DraftKings NBA picks January 23: Luka rules the night.

It’s another light day in the Association with only three games for our DraftKings NBA tournaments. That doesn’t mean it’s without talent. The Blazers, Mavs, Lakers, and Washington/Cleveland value are all on here. It’s going to be an interesting one! At least the injury report is short! Speaking of….

Out: Mo Wagner (ankle), Rui Hachimura (groin), CJ McCollum (ankle), Jusuf Nurkic (leg), Kevin Porter (knee), JaVale McGee (illness), Nicolas Claxton (shoulder), DeMarcus Cousins (knee), Zach Collins (shoulder), Garrison Mathews (ankle), Brandon Knight (knee), Dwight Powell (Achilles), Rodney Hood (Achilles), Skal Labissiere (knee), Ryan Broekhoff (leg), Kevin Durant (Achilles), Dylan Windler (leg), Ante Zizic (illness), John Wall (Achilles), C.J. Miles (wrist).

Questionable: DeAndre Jordan (finger), Anzejs Pasecniks (ankle).

Whiteside and Kyrie are both expected to play. That just adds to the star power on this slate. Otherwise, there isn’t a lot to watch as of now. Of course, we want the Blazers value, so the status of CJ is the critical part.

Last night was just one of those nights. After the news that Porter and Murrray were both out, I went heavier on Barton and Clippers value. That turned out to be a horrible idea. I hit on Beal and didn’t go heavy enough on Zion. I was also heavily invested in DeRozan and has zero Aldridge.

Gobluedp took it down with 375.25 DraftKings points, which was a full 11 points ahead of second place! He built with Beal, Westbrook, and Sabonis and got huge value out of Reggie Jackson, Christian Wood, Collins, and Rose. He even survived Jeff Teague.

Just because you don’t see someone on here doesn’t mean they aren’t a good play. I only have so much room, and I’m not going anyone a favor if I recommend more than half of the players at a position. If you have a feeling about someone, by all means, follow that. I mostly follow numbers and trends.
