A new episode of Fastbreak Breakfast recaps the funny moments of the last week, chooses All-Star reserves and attempts the impossible task of narrowing down the list of rookies for the Rising Stars Challenge.

Ja Morant has stormed to the lead in the Rookie of the Year race, and in basically any other season he would have it locked down. However, a certain phenom named Zion Williamson has finally stormed onto the scene and carries an incomparable buzz.

Beyond Zion and Ja though, who are the other rookies that will be selected to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge? (Certainly, Zion won’t be penalized for missing most of the season to this point, let’s not overthink this). Winnowing the list down to 12 names is surprisingly difficult because of the vast number of rookies getting playing time and contributing.

Brandon Clarke, R.J. Barrett, Michael Porter Jr. and P.J. Washington all seem like locks. Also the Heat duo of Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn.  But what about Coby White, Matisse Thybulle, and Jaxson Hayes? Darius Bazley and Jarrett CulverDarius Garland and Kevin Porter Jr? The list of rookies in their team’s rotation goes on and on.

So on a new episode of Fastbreak Breakfast, we try to narrow it down to just 12 and then anticipate the fall-out of aggrieved fan bases for the snubs.

Also, in a much simpler task, we pick the seven All-Star reserves for each conference.
