Golden State Warriors

Sending out: Alec Burks (DET)

Bringing in: Terance Mann (LAC), 2023 second-round pick (ATL)

The Warriors are just killing time. Short of sending out D’Angelo Russell (which is fun to imagine but seems unlikely) they don’t have obvious trade chips or obvious holes to address. They’re waiting for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to get healthy, fill out the bench with some shrewd veteran free agents and then hoping they can jump right back up to the top of the Western Conference next season.

Alec Burks has had a fun season but he’s not a piece that’s likely to be back. Here they flip him for a second-round pick in the distant future and an interesting young project. Mann has barely played for the Clippers and is old (23) for a rookie. But he has intriguing size in the backcourt and has averaged 15.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 10 G League games this season. He might be nothing but there’s no cost to the Warriors if that turns out to be the case.
