Toronto Raptors

Sending out: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (UTA)

Bringing in: Elie Okobo (PHX), Miye Oni (UTA), 2022 second-round pick (POR)

The Toronto Raptors may not be headed for a repeat this season but the defending champions have the depth and chemistry to ensure a deep playoff run, regardless. Hollis-Jefferson has been useful as a stout defender, taking on wings and 4s, but he’s just ninth on the team in minutes played and his opportunities would likely shrink in the playoffs, especially with the way Chris Boucher and Matt Thomas have played in their limited minutes.

In exchange for giving up this bit part, the Raptors get a future second-rounder, a deep project in Oni and a chance to run Okobo through their developmental machine with the Raptors 905. As we mentioned in the Phoenix slide, Okobo is 22 and hasn’t necessarily looked like a breakout waiting to happen but he’s athletic and has tools, something the Raptors organization has been able to maximize in the past.
