Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson ‘really enjoying’ transition from NFL to farm life.

It’s been less than a year since former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Jordy Nelson, retired from the NFL and now, in the midst of the first Super Bowl since leaving the sport, Nelson’s reflecting on what he really misses in his former career.

He says he enjoys, “getting to be a fan again” and taking his children to Kansas State football games. But there are, of course, elements to his old life that he does miss.

“When I am relaxing on Sundays and watching my former teammates and friends play,” he told FanSided. “Missing the game wasn’t that big of a deal. Missing some of the guys, that’s what you always here, missing the guys in the locker room and being around them daily.”

This time, the first full season of his retirement is a time of transition for Nelson, something he says wasn’t as traumatic for him as it has been for others before him.

“I knew what I was going to do when I was done. I grew up on a family farm back in Kansas and that where I kinda always knew I would go back to, especially having the kind of career I had. I go farm with my brother probably three to four times a week. I coach my son’s fourth-grade basketball team, stuff like that I am really enjoying.”

Nelson spoke to FanSided on behalf of Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold.

With the launch of Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold’s 6 For 6-Pack Program, consumers can help farmers transition six square feet of farmland into organic with each purchase of a 6-pack. A portion of sales from each Pure Gold 6-pack will go directly to farmers looking to transition to organic, allowing consumers to help drive change.
