Handicapper Brandon Lang, who is 24-3-2 all-time in picking Super Bowls against the spread, likes the Kansas City Chiefs to win and cover in Super Bowl 54.

We’ve spent a lot of time talking with so many people in the lead-up to Super Bowl 54 down in Miami. However, we haven’t talked as much about who is going to win the big game on Sunday. Fortunately for us, this is where legendary handicapper Brandon Lang comes into play.

Lang is 24-3-2 all-time in picking against the spread in Super Bowls, including picking the last five in a row correctly. For Lang, Super Bowl 54 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will be one of his toughest Super Bowl picks to date. While he was firm in that this game will go over 54 points, he is willing to swallow one point and go with the Chiefs to win this one.

On the over/under initially being 51, Lang said, “Oh, they hammered it. That was a bad number, right off the bat. I do think it may come back a little bit. I do think it still goes over the posted total. I believe both of these secondaries can be had by the quarterbacks we’re dealing with. I think Kyle Shanahan is going to come out and announce to the world my quarterback can throw.”

The biggest reason Lang is taking the Chiefs to win and cover over the 49ers is that he does not believe the 49ers will be able to play zone coverage in the secondary throughout the ball game. Once they have to go to man coverage, San Francisco just does not have enough speed in his eyes to contain the many speedy offensive weapons on the Kansas City offense.

Overall, we should expect a high-scoring affair down in Miami and one where Patrick Mahomes may very well be the difference in the Chiefs winning or losing Super Bowl 54 vs. the 49ers. With Lang’s track record in picking these games, you have to follow his suit and go with the Chiefs in this one.
