Marshawn Lynch only spent a few weeks with the 2019 Seattle Seahawks, but he had a big impact on Shaquill Griffin and Shaquem Griffin during the playoffs.

The Griffin Twins, Shaquill Griffin and Shaquem Griffin, starred together in college with the UCF Knights and are now living out another dream playing in the same Seattle Seahawks defense. Their story has been well-documented with Shaquem having his left hand amputated at age-four due to pain suffered from amniotic band syndrome. Their football journey has been amazing.

The Griffin Twins spoke with FanSided‘s Mark Carman on behalf of Mountain Dew, touching on all sorts of things, from getting to play a few games with Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch, what it’s like to play with Russell Wilson and if they really were the best team in the NFC this season.

When asked about their limited experience as Lynch’s teammate, who came out of retirement to help the Seahawks during their playoff push, the Griffin Twins offered this. “That meant the world to us,” said Shaquill. “To have that guy come back and say the things that he said, it meant more to younger guys like us because you have a guy who has been through and seen so much.”

“When he walked in, he was a regular player,” said Shaquem on Lynch’s return to the Seahawks’ locker room. “His locker was right next to mine and Bobby Wagner’s. So it felt good. He was easy to talk to…When you meet him in person, he’s totally different. An amazing dude, an amazing guy…A guy who always wanted to give back.”

Here are two NFL players in the prime of their careers who were blown away by the man of character and the type of teammate Lynch is. For a guy to come off the streets firmly in retirement to help his former team win, all while giving precious advice on how to take care of yourself physically, mentally and financially, Lynch’s return to Seattle was a blessing for the Griffin Twins.
