Matchday 25 of the Premier League is almost upon us and there are some great fixtures to look forward to. Here are three bold predictions for all the action.

The Premier League is back this weekend after a last week’s FA Cup round and there are some great matches to look forward to. Liverpool have all but won the title but there are still some key battles going on across the rest of the league.

Bournemouth host Aston Villa in a match that has relegation implications while Wolves travel to Manchester United in a game that is important in the race for fourth place. Norwich travel to Newcastle, with Daniel Farke’s side desperate for points if they’re to survive this season.

Here are three bold predictions for all the action:

3. Norwich win at Newcastle to keep survival hopes alive

The biggest games of this Premier League weekend are at the bottom of the table where teams desperately need points in order to remain in England’s top flight. Norwich are currently the most likely candidates to go down as they sit rock bottom of the league, six points behind fellow strugglers, Watford and Bournemouth.

If the Canaries are to avoid relegation then they need to start winning games more consistently. Daniel Farke’s side have been very impressive at points this season and despite their poor league position, they’ve continued to play attractive soccer rather than doing what it takes to survive. To an extent that has to be respected but it will probably be their downfall come May.

Newcastle were touted as favorites for relegation at the start of the season but Steve Bruce has done a brilliant job to continue the form that Rafa Benitez’s side showed at the end of last season. Bruce’s side are hard to beat and are now offering a more potent attacking threat with Migeul Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin causing opposition sides trouble on either flank.

Newcastle have also just secured the loan signing of Tottenham’s left back, Danny Rose. Rose is a solid defender and should bring more stability and certainty to Magpies back line. Matt Ritchie has impressed since coming back from injury so Rose may have to wait for a start. However, Rose could be thrown straight into it with Ritchie being pushed into midfield.

Norwich’s biggest downfall this season has been their poor defense. The Canaries have the worst defensive record in the league having conceded 47 goals in 24 matches. That suggests that Newcastle will definitely have scoring opportunities this weekend which means Norwich will have to score at least twice if they want to come away with all three points.

Norwich have struggled to score on the road this season, netting just six times in twelve matches. However, this weekend they will improve that stat as they put three past the Toon on their way to a 3-1 win.
