DraftKings NBA Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Trae Young ($10,300): The Dallas guard defense takes a big hit with Luka out. Trae is going to have another monster game here. Maybe not ten assists in the first quarter like he did on Thursday, but definitely another 60+ DraftKings point game. It could go even higher. I’m all in on Trae tonight.

Damian Lillard ($10,200): Worried about the back to back? Don’t be. Lillard has averaged 50.5 DraftKings points per game in the second game of back to back sets this year. That’s a healthy average in six games. Even the Lakers couldn’t cool off Lillard. That’s five straight games of more than 70 DraftKings points. Two of those were over 80. One of those cleared 90. If you’re not using Lillard, you’re just donating right now.

Honorable Mention:

Kyrie Irving ($9,100): Irving didn’t have a good game in his first game after Kobe’s death, but this is the Wizards. He can’t possibly have a bad game here, can he? The two above him are more of a sure thing, but Irving’s price is enough lower to consider him. A ceiling game is possible against the Wizards. This team hands out 120’s like politicians hand out buttons.

De’Aaron Fox ($8,000): Fox continues to put up a big game every once in a while just so that we remember he’s around. The difference was last time he did it against the Clippers, one of the most defensively sound teams around. The Lakers are a good defense, but I think they’ll be spent after last night’s emotional night at Staples. Then they have to turn right around and hit the road. I don’t care that it’s only a couple of hours away. This is going to be about the same as going to work right after a funeral. I wont use any Lakers tonight for that reason. It will all be left in L.A. from last night. That means there could be hidden value in some Kings, Fox being the most obvious.

Dark Horses:

Darius Garland ($5,900): Maybe all the rookie needed was a little rest. Garland rested on Tuesday and comes back to put up 35.75 DraftKings points on the Raptors of all teams. The Warriors don’t defend the point well without Curry around. I expect another solid all-around outing from Garland here even if he doesn’t go much over 30.

Ish Smith ($5,000): Smith and Thomas are still splitting the time and the stats. I have been known to run both against a poor defense. The Nets aren’t that great against the point. Ish presents the higher upside. Thomas is the safer and cheaper option. Use whichever fits your budget. Use both of the need the value. They sap each other’s value, but when they both hit 25 DraftKings points every game, are we really going to complain?

J.J. Barea ($4,600): The Mavs dug up the corpse of Barea and threw him in the starting lineup. What happened was a Dallas offense that was only running smoothly with him on the court. Beware or rising prices with absolutely no basis. DraftKings guessed with Brunson and Wright and jacked the price up. Both were turds last night. Barea’s price is up as well, but he’s a candidate for 7x value at this price. If the Mavs start him again (they would be dumb not to), Barea will be one of the highest-owned players tonight.
