The 2019 regular season for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen was a very forgettable one.

It was a frustrating year for Adam Thielen, riddled with injuries and questionable quarterback play that wound up preventing him from being highly productive. While it was concerning seeing a bright star fade this past season, there is plenty of hope that he will redeem himself in 2020 with Minnesota.

I started to get a bad feeling after about the second or third week of the season when Thielen’s production wasn’t quite the same as it had been the last couple of years. In Week 1 against the Falcons, he saw three targets and caught all of them for 43 yards and a touchdown. It wasn’t a terrible performance, but the fact that he was only targeted three times was a little unsettling if you ask me.

Week 2 against Green Bay was similar to the old days as he was targeted eight times by his quarterback. He hauled in five of those passes for 75 yards and no scores. At this point, I was thinking that the ship was going to head in the right direction moving forward. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.

In the following week against the Raiders, Thielen managed to score a pair of touchdowns but was only thrown five passes. He converted three of them for an additional 55 yards on top of the previously mentioned touchdowns. When the Vikings took on the Bears in Week 4 Thielen had one of the worst performances of his career as he had just two grabs for a meager six total yards.
