8. Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams were the favorites to win the Super Bowl at this time last year. Then, they played the games. Sean McVay could not fit the major issues facing the Rams, which included a very big problem at quarterback. Jared Goff just wasn’t good this past season, and his inability to take over games was one of the major reasons they lost.

They made some changes already, which include replacing defensive coordinator Wade Phillips for Brandon Staley. It seems like they understood a lot more was expected from them, and they weren’t going to accept the fact they were average at best.

Not only did the Rams lose, but they were embarrassed. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put 55 points on them in Week 4. The Baltimore Ravens beat them by 39 on their bye week. It was probably the biggest disappointment in the entire NFL.

The Rams have a lot of open positions in the coaching staff, so it’s hard to see what they might be next season. However, those positions aren’t really going to impact their betting line. What is going to impact it is who they re-sign and who they don’t. The biggest free agent they have is Dante Fowler Jr.

At the end of the day, this team has one of the most talented defenses in the league led by Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald. They have Todd Gurley at least showing something, and a wide receiver group that includes Brandon Cooks, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. There’s a lot here, and with the head coach in place, we expect a major bounce back.
