2020 NFL mock draft: Raiders add elite talent at wide receiver
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots have a big decision in front of them this offseason, as they have to figure out what they are going to do with starting quarterback Tom Brady. The speculation is that the team wants to bring him back on a $30 million per year deal, but it remains to be seen whether or not he wants to try and win a championship without Bill Belichick.
Whatever they decide to do, one thing is for sure, and that is that this franchise needs more playmakers at wide receiver. Sure, N’Keal Harry has the talent to be special at the NFL level, but he barely played this past season, and the Patriots could be in the market to bring in more talent alongside him this offseason.
During his time at LSU, Justin Jefferson established himself as an absolute playmaker for head coach Ed Orgeron, and he would be just that for Belichick as well. He can take the lid off a defense, can go up and make the big catches, and as we saw with the Tigers, he plays his best football in the biggest moments.
The New Orleans Saints have a monster offseason ahead of them, as they have to figure out whether or not Drew Brees will be their starting quarterback moving forward. An absolute Hall of Famer, Brees still looks like he has more left in the tank, and of all the veteran quarterbacks hitting the market, this is the one I believe stays home.
On the other side of the ball, the Saints need to continue to stack talent in their secondary, as it was a major issue during the playoffs. One player they could look to target is Kristian Fulton, who many believe is the best cornerback in this draft class, and played his college ball in the State of Louisiana at LSU.
New Orleans has the talent on both side of the ball to get back to the playoffs next season, but if they do not fix the secondary, the elite of the NFC is going to be too much for them. First things first, they need to bring Brees back on a two-year deal, and then attack the draft looking to get him another ring.
