player. 45. . Safety. Denver Broncos. Grant Delpit. 15

The Denver Broncos picked quarterback Drew Lock in the second round of the 2019 draft, and the expectation was that he would spend his rookie season behind starter Joe Flacco. Instead, Flacco went down due to injury, and Lock stepped in and proved that he can win games at the NFL level.

With their quarterback in place, the Broncos can look to address other needs on their roster, including those in their defensive backfield. With pick No. 15 overall, Denver could decide to bring in the best safety in this draft class, adding Grant Delpit, a hard-hitting draft prospect from LSU.

Denver has always been built around their defense, and now that they have solid young talent on the offensive side of the ball, it would make sense to bring in an elite defensive back here. There is a good chance this franchise takes a big step forward in 2020, and in order to do so,  they have to be able to stop division rival Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes.

16. player. 44. . Edge. Atlanta Falcons. K'Lavon Chaisson

The Atlanta Falcons were one of the more disappointing teams in the NFC this past season, as they went into the year with high expectations. However, they struggled to play consistent football on both sides of the ball, and they almost cost head coach Dan Quinn his job, just a few years removed from the Super Bowl.

As they look towards next season, they cannot afford to get off to a slow start, as it took a three-game winning streak to end the year to save Quinn’s job. On offense, they have the talent to be elite, but the defense will be revamped this offseason, especially after they already stated they will not bring back Vic Beasley Jr.

In his place, the Falcons could get an elite edge rush talent in K’Lavon Chaisson from LSU, who is fresh off leading a punishing defense that won a national title this past season. Chaisson is the kind of pass rusher this defense is missing, and if they can add a few pieces to that side of the ball this offseason, they should be right back in the mix in the NFC South in 2020.
