DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

Both Alexey Shved and Nick Calathes have poor matchups, and due to all of the good matchups and plethora of options beneath them, I’m inclined to fade them both. Before you adopt this policy though, it is worth noting that Shved put up 35 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Tel Aviv and Calathes put up 36.25 against Belgrade. It’s not a really easy decision.

Statistically speaking, Lorenzo Brown and Billy Baron have the easiest matchup for guards this entire round. Brown did struggles against Athens the first time around, but he played less than 10 minutes. That’s not going to happen here. I’m all for a Baron fade to grab one of the top two or a piece of the Fenerbahce backcourt.

Both Nando de Colo and Kostas Sloukas are worth using, but with St. Petersburg battling so many injuries, I don’t see how they hang around in this game. This has the most blowout potential here. As much as I want to run a Fenerbahce stack, I probably wont. There’s no sense messing with a sure blowout with so many other good options available.

Valencia’s backcourt also looks like a M*A*S*H* unit. Malcolm Delaney is a strong play for that reason. Unlike St. Petersburg, I believe that the Valencia frontcourt can keep this game fairly close. Delaney is one of the stronger picks if you are going outside the top five. Elijah Bryant would see an uptick in minutes if Wilbekin is unable to go as well.

The value of the Belgrade backcourt is tempting, but the only one I would really consider is Kevin Punter. Despite worse matchups, I’d rather look at the guys thrust into expanded roles from the injuries to Valencia and St. Petersburg.

Alex Hollins gets the obvious boost for St. Petersburg, but he was starting anyway. I’m more interested in what it could mean for Andrew Albicy. He has been playing well anyway. With Renfroe out, he could turn in a really big game. There is also a boost for Evgeny Voronov if you need to go cheaper.

Valencia is a little more tricky. They are down their top two options facing the team that has allowed the least fantasy points to guards this year. Quino Colom and Guillem Vives did well against Athens after Van Rossom went down, but this is a different animal. Vanja Marinkovic is worth a look, but I would limit my exposure here.
