Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on February 5 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Phoenix at Detroit
7:30 p.m. ET: Golden State at Brooklyn, Orlando at Boston, Indiana at Toronto
8 p.m. ET: Atlanta at Minnesota, Cleveland at Oklahoma City
8:30 p.m. ET: Memphis at Dallas
9 p.m. ET: Denever at Utah
10 p.m. ET: Miami at LA Clippers

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

It’s the last night before the trade deadline, so players on this list might end up sitting if they are in trade talks. Or be traded in the middle of the game.

Studs

Trae Young (at MIN – $10,100 on DK; $9,600 on FD): Trae is probable so I’m going to assume he’ll play. And he couldn’t ask for a better matchup. The Timberwolves haven’t won with KAT since November. The team is dreadful. And Trae never lacks for numbers. The points should be there and the assists will be there as well.

Kawhi Leonard (vs MIA – $9,800 on DK; $9,800 on FD): It’s a tough matchup for Kawhi as he looks across at Jimmy Butler. And this is where Kawhi thrives. He has a high ceiling and I’m always going to trust him when there’s a tough matchup in front of him because he always raises his game. He won’t hurt you and the ceiling is high.

D’Angelo Russell (at BKN – $8,400 on DK; $7,700 on FD): It’s a revenge game for Russell and it’s not like the Nets are a great team. Russell has a high ceiling with his scoring and playmaking as well. The future is uncertain but he seems rather unfazed by it all, which is hopefully a good sign. I love everything about Russell in this one.

Kristaps Porzingis (vs MEM – $8,300 on DK; $8,700 on FD): With Doncic still out, Porzingis remains the star of the show in Dallas. His salary has jumped but I’m not worried about it. He’s guaranteed value because of the circumstances and it’s a good matchup against a team weak against the position.

Dennis Schroder (vs CLE – $6,700 on DK; $6,600 on FD): The OKC guards should thrive against this matchup. Though one will take a backseat. And Schroder has the lowest salary and has been the most consistent this season. Shai might have a higher ceiling but he’s been inconsistent as of late. Schroder is guaranteed value and then some.
