It was no surprise that Travis Kelce offered an impassioned speech during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, but his rip of former teammate Dee Ford was particularly epic.

After losing in the AFC Championship Game last year, the Kansas City Chiefs took the next step and won their first Super Bowl in 50 years last Sunday. Tight end Travis Kelce has celebrated nicely already, including a “beer luge” off the Lombardi Trophy.

In that aforementioned AFC title game loss to the New England Patriots, Dee Ford jumped offsides late in regulation to help eventually cost the Chiefs the game and a trip to the Super Bowl in overtime. Ford was franchise tagged and traded to the Super Bowl LIV opponent San Francisco 49ers last offseason, and the Chiefs filled the void by getting Frank Clark from the Seattle Seahawks in the same tag-and-trade fashion.

Kelce, donning a WWE belt to empower the bit, channeled his inner pro wrestler all through his parade speech on Wednesday. As he acknowledged his teammates he got to Clark, who wears No. 55, and he took the opportunity to epically rip Ford too.

“How ’bout my dog?, 5-5, and he ain’t offsides, Frank Clark!”

Ouch.

Ford was operating at less than 100 percent health for the 49ers for much of this past season, and he had just 6.5 sacks in 11 regular season games. Clark was also a little banged up, as he had eight sacks in 14 regular season games. But then he had five sacks in three playoff games, when it mattered the most.

Kelce is sure to be the front face of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration, with some fun and boundary-pushing moments. But props to him for taking an opportunity to troll and rip Ford, as could have been expected with the added layer of Ford being on the team the Chiefs’ beat in Super Bowl LIV.
