NFL free agency 2020: Best quarterbacks available
4. Philip Rivers
The historic 2004 quarterback class isn’t looking too hot right now. Eli Manning retired and Ben Roethlisberger missed most of the season with a torn ACL, leaving Philip Rivers as the only guy starting, and he suffered through the worst season of his career.
Rivers put up a 23:20 touchdown to interception ratio and looked like a shell of himself, leading to rampant speculation that the Chargers are planning to move on from him, while Rivers himself has moved his family out of San Diego. Unlike Manning, Rivers still wants to play, and perhaps a better situation would allow him to make one more run for that elusive Super Bowl ring.
3. Dak Prescott
There may not be a player who is ascending on this list much faster than Dak Prescott, who put up career best passing numbers for the Dallas Cowboys in 2019. Despite Prescott’s 30 touchdowns and 4,902 passing yards, the Cowboys missed the postseason, leading to the dismissal of long-time coach Jason Garrett and the hire of former Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy.
While technically a free agent, there is absolutely no chance that Prescott will leave Dallas. Owner Jerry Jones has indicated Prescott will either end up with a long term contract or receive the franchise tag, so this is the one guy on the list we can say with 100 percent certainty won’t be leaving his current team.
