DraftKings NBA picks February 7: A Harden day’s night
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Power Forwards:
Best Bets:
Domantas Sabonis ($9,000): Sabonis just put up 46.5 DraftKings points and a triple-double on Toronto on Wednesday night. They didn’t grow more help up front or get Gasol back since then. I’m not saying Sabonis triples up again, but his scoring should be up at the very least. He should be worth the price again tonight.
Jayson Tatum ($8,100): Tatum was huge for Boston on Wednesday with the Celtics decimated by injuries. More than half of the starting five is out or questionable again heading into tonight. Let’s face it. They aren’t scared of the Hawks. My feeling is that most of those questionable tags end up sitting and Tatum ends up having another monster game.
Pascal Siakam ($7,500): As good as Sabonis was on Wednesday, Siakam was even better. He put up 49.75 DraftKings points against the Pacers and played the most minutes he has since his return. There are no more limitations on Siakam. He is an absolute steal at this price.
Honorable Mention:
Dorian Finney-Smith ($6,000): We all know that Washington doesn’t play defense. Some of the output of Powell and Luka has been taken over by DFS. He was always good on the boards, but he has started taking many more shots with moderate success. He’s a walking double-double right now, so this seems like a reasonable price. Especially against a team like the Wizards.
Robert Covington ($5,700): Covington put up as strong a game as any he had as a member of the Timberwovles in his Rockets debut. This is a perfect landing stpot for Covington. He’s a good shooter and contributes across all categories. I’m a huge fan of Covington at this price against this team.
Davis Bertans ($5,400): He’s the only scorer the Wizards truly have besides Beal. Dallas is ravaged by injuries right now, so a sharpshooter like Bertans is a good one to take against them. The price is right too. Bertans is a lot more than just a shooter. He is capable of having a big game here.
Dark Horses:
Derrick Jones ($4,800): If the reinforcements don’t arrive for the Heat, Jones is a very strong play once again. He ravaged the Clippers starting in place of Leonard on Wednesday. I don’t expect another 47.75 out of Jones, but even if he only hits 37, that’s still almost 8x value at this price. Jones is well worth the dart throw.
Grant Williams ($3,800): Even if the Celtics has some help back, they are still without Theis and Williams. That leaves Grant another chance at solid minutes. He has 57.5 DraftKings points in 46 minutes over the last two games. If he plays 25 minutes here, he has a legit shot at 10x value. I’m not kidding.
