player. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. Kansas. Hakeem Adeniji. Offensive Line

With plenty of needs addressed in the first three rounds, it’s back to the offensive line here. Adeniji is listed as a tackle, and started 48 games at tackle for the Jayhawks in his career.

Adeniji got an invite to the 2020 Senior Bowl, and played both tackle and guard during the week. In 1-on-1 reps, he fell victim to speed rushers on the edge quite a bit, but showed great power and anchor against defensive tackles on the interior. Adeniji’s best position could be guard at the next level, and with the Jets needs all along the offensive line, he’s a great addition at this point in the draft.

Pairing Adeniji next to Thomas on the left side of the line would be very solid, as both have the power to win against stronger defenders at the point of attack. The Jets believe in Chuma Edoga on the right side at tackle. Add in a free-agent acquisition, and the Jets rebuild of the offensive line comes together nicely. That could get Darnold and Gase’s offense back on track for the 2020 season, and potentially propel this Jets team into contention for a Wild Card spot.
