Five college basketball teams on upset alert this weekend, including No. 1 Baylor vs. West Virginia and a pair of Big Ten teams in danger of slipping further.

Time is running out to build a resume good enough to make the NCAA Tournament but a big upset could be the answer to getting off the bubble. With only a few more regular-season games left in the schedule, if a team is going to make a move to impress the selection committee, they better start on Saturday with all eyes on college basketball.

A handful of teams are on upset alert this weekend, including the No. 1 team in the nation, Baylor, who has won 21 straight but could be due for an upset if they’re caught looking ahead to their date with Kansas.

Butler vs. Georgetown – Saturday at 2:30 on FOX

The Bulldogs managed to escape with a five-point win over Xavier earlier in the week but they were outplayed by the Musketeers in the second half. This has been an inconsistent run for Butler, which has gone just 4-5 after a 15-1 start. Georgetown can put the ball in the basket as well as anybody, averaging 76.8 points per game, and they can give the Bulldogs and their low-wattage offense a ton of problems at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Baylor vs. West Virginia – Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPN+

The Bears are the No. 1 team in the nation for good reason, having ripped off 21 straight wins, but they draw a very dangerous West Virginia team on Saturday. The Mountaineers gave Kansas all they could handle in a nine-point loss and their press defense will make life difficult for Baylor’s explosive offense. The Bears have squeaked out games lately, failing to win by more than eight points in their last three contests, which could be a sign a letdown is coming.

LSU at Alabama – Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPN2

The Tigers looked like the team to beat in the SEC before back-to-back losses last week to Vanderbilt and Auburn. Then, LSU sweated out a four-point win against a Missouri team that was only 3-7 in the SEC. Now they go on the road against an Alabama team on the bubble and with the No. 3 scoring offense, the Tide could pull off the upset and keep the Tigers in a tailspin.

Illinois at Rutgers – Saturday at 4:30 on BTN

The fates of two seasons may have been altered on one play Tuesday night when Xavier Tillman‘s put-back dunk in the final minute lifted Michigan State past Illinois. Not only did the Fighting Illini drop their third straight game, but they also saw star guard Ayo Dosunmu go down with a left knee injury on the play. The MRI revealed no structural damage, however, Illinois is reeling and now they have to go on the road to Rutgers who is a perfect 16-0 at home this year. The Illini could be looking at four straight losses unless they do what no other visiting team has been able to do this year and win in Piscataway.

Iowa at Minnesota – Sunday at 1 p.m. on FS1

Despite the presence of star big man Luka Garza, Iowa has been a horrendous road team, dropping five of their first six Big Ten road games. That run includes a drubbing at slumping Indiana on Thursday and Iowa is on the road again to take on Minnesota who is fighting to stay on the right side of the bubble. It wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see the Hawkeyes go 0-2 on the week.
