Chicago Bears free agency 2020: Top 5 targets
By Jon Dove
The Chicago Bears have some work to do during this free agency period if they hope to get back into the playoff mix.
It promises to be a busy offseason for the Chicago Bears.
They are a team who sees themselves as a playoff contender, but have a few holes to fill. The most publicized need is at the quarterback position where Mitch Trubisky took a step backwards in his development.
Chicago will look to bring in some competition at the quarterback spot, but don’t look for them to target flashy names like Tom Brady or Philip Rivers.
There are a lot of free agents who will draw the Bears attention this offseason.
5. Karl Joseph, Safety, Oakland Raiders
The Bears have an opening at one of their safety spots with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix hitting the free-agent market. Clinton-Dix had a solid season in Chicago, but it’s likely he’ll get a bigger contract from another team.
Chicago has already committed a big chunk of money on Eddie Jackson and will likely look to keep things cheap at the other spot.
One name that makes some sense is Karl Joseph. He mirrors Clinton-Dix in a lot of ways. Both are hard hitters who haven’t make a ton of game-changing plays. Joseph is someone who is a steady presence, but isn’t going to provide a splash.
