This XFL presents the Draftkings/DFS community with another four game slate in week three. Let’s take a look at this week’s games from a fantasy football perspective!

In this article, I will discuss my Draftkings player selections with regard to position. It should be noted that I am not providing a specific lineup. I am providing Draftkings player options at each position in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup.

Quarterback

Cardale Jones DC Defenders $10,800

Now that we are two games into the XFL season we can start to access the talent level of the players in this league. Having stated that, I can say with confidence that after watching all of the football games played to this point in the season that it is abundantly clear to me that Cardale Jones is currently one of elite quarterbacks in the XFL.

To better shed light on Cardale Jones outstanding play, let’s take a look at some of his key statistics. In the his first two games played, Jones has accumulated 511 passing yards and thrown four passing touchdowns. Additionally, Jones has shown that he can use his legs if needed. Let me be more specific. Jones has rushed the football ten times for 42 rushing yards. It should also be noted that Jones has only thrown one interception this season.

Now let’s take a quick look at who Jones will be facing in week three. Cardale Jones and the DC Defenders will visit the Los Angeles Wildcats on Sunday. The Wildcats have NOT been good on defense this season. More specifically, through the first two games, the Wildcats defense has allowed the second most Draftkings points (51) to the quarterback position. In my opinion, Jones should have no problem continuing his outstanding play in week three. This Los Angeles Wildcats defense will likely not be able to slow down the DC Defenders offense.

Additional quarterbacks I like:

Running Back

Cameron Artis-Payne $8,300

Last week, Dallas Renegade running back Cameron Artis-Payne showed football fans why he once played for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. In the Renegades win over the Los Angeles Wildcats, Artis-Payne accumulated 99 rushing yards and added two rushing touchdowns. He also was targeted as a receiver by Renegades quarterback Landry Jones five times. Artis-Payne finished the game with five receptions and 32 receiving yards. In my opinion, Cameron Artis-Payne is without a doubt that best Draftkings play at the running back position on this week’s four game slate.

Additional running backs I like:

Wide Receiver

Cam Phillips Houston Roughnecks $11,100

In my opinion, the Houston Roughnecks are currently the best team in the XFL. Yes, I know that we are only two games into the season. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Houston has an exceptional team. One of the big reasons that Houston has been so successful through the first two games is the team’s offense. Roughnecks quarterback Phillip Walker has been getting most of the headlines. I can’t argue with that. Walker certainly deserves a great deal of credit. However, let us not forget the contributions of Roughnecks wide receiver Cam Phillips.

It has to be said that Cam Phillips has played some outstanding football this season. Though two games, Phillips has 12 receptions, 130 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns. Phillips has also been targeted by Houston quarterback Phillip Walker a whopping 19 times! Walker is certainly providing Phillips an abundance of opportunities to make offensive plays on the football field!

Additional wide receivers I like this week:

  • Nelson Spruce, Los Angeles Wildcats $10,900
  • Deandre Thompkins, DC Defenders $5,700
  • Nick Holley, Houston Roughnecks $4,400
  • Reece Horn, Tampa Bay Vipers $4,200.

Defense

DC Defenders $4,700

The Defenders currently are the number one defense in the XFL in average Draftkings points scored per game (23.5). The Defenders have certainly been aggressive and opportunistic on defense so far this season. Through two games, the Defenders have three defensive turnovers for touchdowns and four sacks.

This week, the Defenders will play the L.A. Wildcats. I think the Defenders will be happy to face this team. Why do I say that? Well, the Wildcats have had clear issues on the offensive line. The issues on the Wildcats offensive line will present many opportunities for the Defenders to force more turnovers on Sunday afternoon. I just love the Defenders defense this week!
