The XFL presents the FanDuel/DFS community with a Saturday afternoon clash of divisional opponents as the Dallas Renegades travel to Seattle to take on the Dragons. Let’s take a look at this game from a fantasy football perspective!

Before I dive into my player selections for this one game slate let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game contest.

The rules for the FanDuel single game contest are rather simple. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your lineup’s MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5 times the standard FanDuel points.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard FanDuel points. Having stated that, it is imperative that you select the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to take down a single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my FanDuel player selections for this week’s single game slate!

MVP

Cameron Artis-Payne-Dallas Renegades $14

First of all, with the exception of the Houston Roughnecks, I believe that the Dallas Renegades offense is the most attractive unit in the XFL from a DFS perspective. Why do I say that? Well, the Dallas offense has illustrated through the first two games of the season that they can hurt defenses in multiple ways. More specifically, the Renegades offense has been effective passing and rushing the football.

In week two, the Renegades offensive unit showcased the team’s ability to run the football effectively on a consistent basis. The main beneficiary of the running game’s success in last week’s win over the Los Angeles Wildcats was Dallas running back Cameron Artis-Payne.

Cameron Artis-Payne finished last week’s game with 99 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and 32 receiving yards. Payne’s games statistics translated into an impressive 28.6 FanDuel points.

This week, the Renegades draw a Seattle Dragons defense that has struggled defending the run this season. An illustration of the Dragons inability to stop the run could clearly be seen in last week’s game versus the Tampa Bay Vipers. Let me be more specific. In week two, the Dragons defense allowed a whopping 141 rushing yards on 32 carries. Breaking it down even further we can see that the Dragons allowed Tampa Bay to obtain 4.4 rushing yards per carry!

In summary, I absolutely love Cameron Artis-Payne’s chances to put up some outstanding fantasy numbers in week three. Having stated that, I am rolling with Artis-Payne as my MVP this week!

Flex Plays

Keenan Reynolds-Seattle Dragons $11

To be honest, it was not easy to find any quality fantasy plays on the Seattle Dragons offense. However, I did find one Seattle player that certainly has potential to excel in week three. That Seattle player is wide receiver Keenan Reynolds! The former Baltimore Raven played every offensive snap in the Dragons week three game.

Additionally, Reynolds was targeted by Seattle quarterback Brandon Silvers eight times last week! Just to provide some additional perspective, no other Dragons wide receiver had more than four targets in week two. I think Keenan Reynolds presents outstanding value at a FanDuel price of only 11 dollars!

Lance Dunbar-Dallas Renegades  $10

I mentioned earlier in this article that the Dallas Renegades have done an outstanding job on offense to this point in the XFL season. Well, Dallas running back Lance Dunbar has been an integral part of the Renegades success on offense. Dunbar has shown that he can be effective as a runner and a receiver out of the backfield. In last week’s win over Los Angeles, Dunbar compiled 76 total offensive yards (42 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards). Dunbar’s game statistics translated into 10.1 FanDuel points.

Flynn Nagel-Dallas Renegades $7

When you look at the box score for the Renegades week two win, you will come away feeling as if Dallas wide receiver Flynn Nagel was a non factor in the football game. Nagel finished the week two contest with only two receptions on three receiving targets. However, what the game statistics don’t tell you is that Flynn Nagel ran a team high 43 routes in week two. I think Nagel has an outstanding chance to pop from a fantasy perspective on Saturday afternoon. At a FanDuel price of only $7, Flynn Nagel is definitely worth the risk!

Sean Price-Dallas Renegades $7

With my last flex play selection, I am going with Dallas tight end Sean Price. One of the reasons that I like Price’s chances to succeed this week is an injury to Renegades tight end Donald Parnham. It has to be said that to this point in the season that Donald Parnham has been a monster from a fantasy perspective. However, Parnham has missed multiple practices this week due to an apparent ankle injury leaving his status for this week in doubt. If Parnham does miss this week’s game in Seattle, I think Sean Price will be the prime beneficiary. Price has shown potential this season. In week two, Price accumulated three receptions and 40 receiving yards.

As always, good luck!
