2. Chris Harris

One of the biggest areas of concern for the Saints this offseason is their secondary, where they have a lot of decisions to make. Eli Apple is going to hit the market while Patrick Robinson and Janoris Jenkins have big cap numbers, so changes will need to be made at cornerback.

The odds are high the Saints will have to bring in at least one new corner, and going after a ring-chaser would be an effective strategy given the team’s cap woes. Finding a guy with proven past performance is a plus, and one player who fits the bill is Broncos’ corner Chris Harris.

A key member of the No Fly Zone group that helped Denver win Super Bowl 50, Harris’ production has declined a bit in recent years. Harris still has the ability to be a solid corner in today’s NFL, but the days of him being a lockdown guy are likely over.

That skillset still has value in the league, and the Saints could use a guy like Harris to bridge the gap while they draft and develop younger players. Harris would be a great addition to help mentor potential draftees, teaching them the tricks of the trade he has learned over the years.

The situation would also appeal to Harris, who hasn’t sniffed the postseason since playing in Super Bowl 50. A move to a bona fide contender could revitalize Harris in the short term, which could lead to tremendous results for the Saints.
