DraftKings NBA picks February 27: Beware of Brow
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA centers:
Best Bets:
Hassan Whiteside ($8,800): I’m not going to play the what-if game with Embiid. They haven’t ruled him out, but with a MRI scheduled and the Knicks on tap, there’s no way he’s playing. That gives Whiteside top billing. He would deserve it anyway. Whiteside put up 52.5 DraftKings points on Indy the first time around. Expect more of the same here.
Honorable Mention:
Steven Adams ($6,800): Adams has been on a tear lately, and it hasn’t all been against bad interior teams. One of this best games of the year was against Denver that kicked off this run of three straight games of more than 40 DraftKings points since the break. Adams topped 35 in both games before the break. This price is way too low on Adams for what he has been doing. He could be one of the best per dollar guys on the night.
Marquese Chriss ($5,900): This is a tough matchup for Chriss, but he does have 58.25 DraftKings points in just 43 minutes against the Lakers this year. Chriss is athletic enough to still get shots against that front. This price is a little off-putting for me, especially with the available value in this tier, but Chriss could be a contrarian low-ownership dart.
Dark Horses:
Al Horford ($5,200): Embiid lasted most of the first quarter before going down, so Horford 30.25 DraftKings points from last night is a reasonable expectation to carry into tonight. New York is actually good against centers, and Horford isn’t really the offensive player that he used to be. Horford is a very good value play, but he doesn’t have massive upside.
Mitch Robinson ($5,000): Robinson had one of his better games of the season. On top of that, he played 30 minutes! You know what that means, right? The Knicks habitually bench anyone that helps their team. They want to lose. Robinson may only play like 12 minutes tonight. He has had trouble with Embiid this year, but without Embiid in there, he’s worth a look. Let’s just hope the Knicks coaching staff leaves their heads out of their asses (they probably wont).
