1. Vic Beasley, Edge Rusher

The pass-rushing situation for the Los Angeles Rams is very concerning. One of their top pass rushers, Dante Fowler Jr., is hitting the free-agent market. His 11.5 sacks last year was second-best on the team behind only Aaron Donald.

Fowler Jr’s combination of age and recent production means he’ll land a sizeable contract on the open market. Los Angeles’ lack of cap space means they have a hard time keeping Fowler Jr. in the mix.

This would leave the aging Clay Matthews as the teams only non-Donald passing rushing threat. Matthews’ eight sacks last year were his best since the 2014 season. It’s a stretch to think he’ll be able to repeat last year’s success.

Samson Ebukam is an option to replace Fowler Jr., but he wasn’t nearly as productive. This means the Rams may need to dip into the free-agent pool.

Vic Beasley is likely to land a solid contract, but he is also likely to come cheaper than Fowler Jr. The problem is that landing Beasley would likely mean the Rams need to make cost-cutting moves across the rest of the roster.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Rams juggle this offseason.
