St. Louis BattleHawk Jordan Ta’amu has been quietly climbing up the quarterback ratings in the XFL, so he is No. 2 in passing yardage behind Houston’s P.J. Walker. Add stats that show Ta’amu has completed an impressive 76% of his passes, has thrown 4 touchdown passes and achieved a quarterback rating of 102.3 and you can understand why the BattleHawks are favored to beat the Seattle Dragons in Saturday night’s XFL game.

Ta’amu will turn to the XFL’s leading rusher – running back Matt Jones – to reach the proper balance of running and passing plays.  Jones has rushed for 227 yards.  Jones had his best game thus far last weekend when he ran for 95 yards on 15 carries and scored one touchdown  against the D.C. Defenders.

One of Ta’amu’s favorite targets ls slot wide receiver De’Mornay Pierson-El.  Pierson-El has 16 receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Seattle’s hopes in this game ride on quarterback Brandon Silvers.  He is 100 yards behind Ta’amu in passing yardage and ranked the No. 5 quarterback in the XFL.

Sliver’s favorite target is wide receiver Austin Proehl.  Proehl, son of NFL wide receiver Ricky Proehl, has 168 yards in pass receptions and three touchdown catches.

Defensively, the BattleHawks have the edge.  Defensive end Andrew Ankrah is among the leaders in sacks with 2 and safety Will Hill is among the top 5 XFL defenders in tackles and interceptions.

One unique feature in this game is the possibility of trick plays.  For example, St. Louis scored a touchdown against the Guardians on a kickoff return as Joe Powell took a lateral from Keith Mumphery and ran 90 yards to the end zone.

Here are the DFS recommendations for this game:

  • START St. Louis quarterback Jordan Ta’amu
  • START St. Louis running back Matt Jones
  • START Seattle wide receive Austin Proehl
  • SIT Seattle running back(s)
  • EXPECT the St. Louis BattleHawks to win by 12 with the total points not exceeding 40
