DraftKings NBA picks March 1: Back to the A.D. well
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Point Guards:
Best Bets:
Kyle Lowry ($8,100): I’m not a huge fan of Lowry here, but only Milwaukee and Phoenix have held him under 40 DraftKings points since the first week of February. That said, on a slate this small you better not miss. If Lowry doesn’t reach 40, you could be drawing dead before dinner.
De’Aaron Fox ($7,700): Fox looked fine slicing through Memphis on Friday, so I’m banking on him playing. However, if he suffers a setback the Kings are hurting at the point with CoJo likely out. It would be chalk Yogi night in a very good matchup. I really like Fox here if there’s no limitations. I would consider him more likely to hit 40 than Lowry, but Lowry does have considerable upside.
Honorable Mention:
Derrick Rose ($6,600): Rose’s post-break slump seems to be over since he put up 78.25 DraftKings points on two solid point defenses in Phoenix and Denver. Rose put up 47 DraftKings points against the Kings the first time around with a more crowded backcourt and more talent around him. I think Rose is going to end up thriving as the go-to guy on this team. He could be in for another big night.
Dark Horses:
Shabazz Napier ($4,700): Truth be told, I don’t trust any part of this Washington point guard situation. It’s even worse now than when Thomas was there. Napier seems to be the better bet, and if Poole is out again, the Warriors may have to put Steve Kerr back on the court. That’s how dire the situation is. However, this is a total dart throw. Ish may end up having the big game. We just don’t know.
Alex Caruso ($3,300): Caruso started in place of Green last night, but he was far less effective as a starter and Rondo still played more minutes. The Lakers guards are all untrustworthy at this point, but Caruso did put up 29.25 DraftKings points against the Pelicans last week. That has to count for something, right?
