DraftKings NBA picks March 7: Curry messes up your night
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Point Guards:
Best Bets:
Damian Lillard ($9,600): Lillard still feels a bit overpriced, but it’s a small slate and he has torched the Kings this year. Lillard has 150.25 DraftKings points in the three games against the Kings so far. Portland may hold him out since it seems they are easing him back into things. However, if Lillard is out there he is worth a look.
Curry is OUT! That makes Mulder worth a look.
Honorable Mention:
De’Aaron Fox ($7,900): Fox is priced near the top of his production scale here. That’s a bit concerning. He put up 43 DraftKings points in his only game against Portland this year. I would consider Fox marginally safer than Lilllard here. The abdominal discomfort doesn’t seem to be hurting Fox. He has between 38 and 43 DraftKings points in every game since the one he missed on February 27.
Shake Milton ($6,300): We seem to have found Milton’s flatline point and it’s about what he’s priced for. Don’t expect a ceiling game here against Curry. Milton is still playing well though and should be right around 5x value. He’s fine for cash games, but we probably want more for GPP purposes.
Dark Horses:
Mike Conley ($4,900): Conley has no upside, but he doesn’t really need it if he’s flirting with 30 DraftKings points every night. The Jazz are playing better lately, but you can’t tell much by games against the Knicks, Cavs, and Generals…..er…..Wizards. Those are three of the worst defenses on the planet. Conley is a safe value play, but not much more than that.
Brandon Knight ($4,800): Knight has four straight games of 28 or more DraftKings points, but the return of Brown is bound to hurt him some. Still, Knight is the only true PG on this team. If the Pistons start Brown over Knight, I’ll consider moving off of him. I think the more likely scenario is that Svi gets bumped and Knight and Brown spend a lot of court time together. Both are solid plays here with whoever starts having more upside. However, if Young sits, Jeff Teague is a much better play at a much lower price.
