1. QB Tom Brady

Brady is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career, and he seems ready to pursue whatever might be out there. The speculation over where he’ll land, assuming a return to New England is not a formality, has been rampant and there are a few solid-looking fits if he really wants to go elsewhere–49ers, Titans, Buccaneers (my personal favorite) and Chargers.

The looming offseason quarterback carousel, in free agency and trades, really starts with the G.O.A.T. The team that gets him won’t be looking elsewhere in the market for a veteran signal-caller, and whoever he is tabbed to replace (if he signs with someone other than the Patriots) will be available.

There’s so much smoke over Brady signing with a new team there almost has to be a fire. But it also could go the other way, with so much speculation out there that will ultimately yield a boring, formulaic return to New England.

Brady appears to have plenty left, with below-the-surface data suggesting he was really hampered by a lack of top-end talent around him last season. Based only on being the biggest domino in NFL free agency this year, and the NFL offseason’s biggest domino, Brady gets the No. 1 spot on this list.
