18. CB Logan Ryan

Ryan has played out his contract with the Tennessee Titans, and he’ll go into free agency off a season where he set career-highs for total tackles (113) and pass breakups (18) along with 4.5 sacks, four interceptions and four forced fumbles. But he was simply abused as a slot corner, allowing over 900 yards in coverage when aligned there (11 plays of more than 20 yards, according to Pro Football Focus).

Ryan greatest value is as a versatile veteran corner with playoff experience, dating back to to his time with the New England Patriots. So it’s not all that surprising the Miami Dolphins, with long-time former Patriots’ assistant Brian Flores as head coach, are reportedly high on Ryan as a free-agent target.

It’s probably not all that realistic, but Ryan should simply not play in the slot much anymore after last year’s experience or else he’ll be a consistent (and profitable) target for the opposition. But he is absolutely among the top handful of corners available in free agency, and he’s well in line for one more nice contract at 29 years old.
