Cam Newton to the Bears would be best for both parties

If Cam Newton were to leave the Carolina Panthers, he should go to the Chicago Bears. It would be a tremendous fit for both parties involved.

If the Bears want to keep convincing themselves Mitchell Trubisky is anything close to a long-term solution at quarterback, they can do it. But since we don’t have our Bear Goggles On, let’s be clear: 2020 should be Trubisky’s last year in Da Windy City and he’s done being the starter if “Superman Cam” comes to town.
For Newton, going to the Bears would be a tremendous fit. Carolina is rebuilding, whether the Panthers want to openly admit it or not. Newton has been the face of the Panthers for nearly a decade, but with a change in ownership and at head coach, it’s time for a clean break. He can go play on a team with a championship-caliber defense on-par with the 2015 Panthers.
For Chicago, Newton will provide dynamism the Bears have never really had at the quarterback position. Newton plays with the heart and passion of Jim McMahon, but has far more talent. Assuming he gets his health in order, Newton’s right arm was every bit as powerful as Jay Cutler‘s at their career apexes.
Newton was the NFL MVP in 2015, leading Carolina to its second Super Bowl appearance with 45 touchdowns (rushing and passing). He’s long been one o the league’s best quarterbacks and would fit perfectly in head coach Matt Nagy’s system, which calls for mobility and smarts.
Of course, Chicago may want to keep lying to itself about Trubisky. It might pursue a better version of him in Andy Dalton or go with another former No. 2 overall draft pick in Marcus Mariota. Though Dalton and Mariota could find success in Chicago, neither would have the ability to captivating the entire Midwest region as Newton would.

While we may not see Newton run as much as he did in Charlotte, he will help the Bears challenge for the NFC North crown immediately. He may not have a ton of great years left in the tank, but Newton is certainly better than any Bears quarterback since Sid Luckman in the 1940s.
