21st Overall: Philadelphia Eagles – C.J. Henderson (CB – Florida)

Team Needs
Wide Receiver, Cornerback, Safety, Running Back

Picks: 21 (1st), 53 (2nd), 85 (3rd), 97 (3rd), 127 (4th), 143 (4th), 167 (5th), 169 (5th), 190 (6th)

Most of the world may expect the Philadelphia Eagles to go wide receiver here, but corner is the bigger need. The Eagles need some top end talent at corner. Philadelphia needs to figure out their cornerback situation, and C.J. Henderson has the talent to be groomed for the number one role. Henderson is a sticky man corner who is also strong against the run and rushing the passer. He is likely the number two or three corner on the draft boards of more than a few teams including the Eagles.

Team Impact

The Eagles are desperate for cornerbacks, a position that has been a problem for two years running. Sidney Jones has failed to live up to this potential, and the rest of the Eagles corners are more ideal as depth pieces than actual starters. Ronald Darby is also headed to free agency which increases the likelihood that Philadelphia will choose to double dip by adding corner talent in both free agency, and on day one of the NFL Draft. Henderson projects as a foundational piece for the Eagles secondary.

Fantasy Impact

C.J. Henderson has the talent and ball skills to be the number one rookie IDP corner in this draft class. As is the case with most rookie corners who start in their first year, Henderson will be a prime CB2 candidate in tackle heavy leagues. He has the highest dynasty IDP floor of any corner in this class. He should be a starter for close to 10 years, and is worth consideration as the CB2 in IDP heavy dynasty league rookie drafts.
