These 10 Patrick Mahomes highlights are his best yet

7. Crazy TD drive vs. Seahawks
Kansas City ultimately ended up losing this game, but not much of the blame could have been placed on its star quarterback. Late in the 2018 season, the Chiefs were 11-3 and playing in Seattle, one of the toughest places to win in the entire league. Down 17-10, Mahomes and Co. went to work.
It all started on 1st-and-10 from the Chiefs’ own 17. Instead of stepping up in the pocket or scrambling, Mahomes got rid of the ball right before he likely would’ve run into his own offensive lineman. He dropped a picture-perfect dime with excellent touch to his tight end Travis Kelce some 20 yards down the field. That was one of two highlight throws from that drive, though.
At the 25 yard line, Mahomes was scrambling away from pressure and noticed an open Charcandrick West getting separation downfield. Instead of squaring his body and having a better chance at making an accurate throw, Mahomes flung a sidearm rocket right into West’s breadbasket.
Neither of these plays is capable of being made by ordinary quarterbacks. The first one speaks to Mahomes’ ability to take some velocity off his throws and make the touch passes. The latter put his physical tools on display. Not many field generals in the NFL can do what Mahomes did on the pass to West.
