Is Julio Jones still a top-10 wide receiver in dynasty leagues?
By John Buhler
Julio Jones is a lock to be a Pro Football Hall of Famer, but is he still a top-10 wide receiver in fantasy football dynasty leagues?
In nine years with the Atlanta Falcons, wide receiver Julio Jones has put together a certain Pro Football Hall of Fame career. He’s been the best wide receiver in football for the last decade, but entering his age-31 season in 2020, could we be looking at a downtick for him at least in terms of fantasy football dynasty league implications?
The Fantasy Footballers address this very topic. Jason Moore and Andy Holloway are high on Jones remaining a top-10 fantasy wide receiver in dynasty leagues. While he’s never been elite at hauling in touchdowns, you can always count on Jones to rack up yardage and dominate in PPR leagues. They see him as an at-worst WR7 in 2020 dynasty league football.

Holloway brings up a great point in even if Jones declines in his mid-to-late 30s, you’re still trying to win dynasty leagues every year. It’s not like you’re stockpiling picks to win some dynasty league in years to come. He expects Jones to be a star wide receiver for at least the next few years, especially with his rapport with quarterback Matt Ryan being firmly established.
Mike Wright does bring up a valid point in how we’ve seen plenty of incredible wide receivers like Jones take a hit in their production later in their careers. If Jones can play at this level for another three seasons, then he has no issues with Jones remaining a top-10 fantasy wide receiver in dynasty leagues.
What this really comes down to is if you believe any receiver younger than Jones will assert himself as consistently the best wide receiver in football. Jones has had many challengers over the years. While others can claim to be the best in any given year, it’s usually a flavor of the week with Jones following closely behind him at No. 2 in terms of overall wide receiver rankings.
Ultimately, Jones is still very much a top-10 fantasy wide receiver, even in dynasty leagues. He will be a reason your team can win next season and probably for the next few years. Eventually, his play will decline and you can move off him then. But for now, it would be in your best interest to keep Jones on your dynasty league roster for at least the next few years going forward.
