The Jacksonville Jaguars seem to be starting a new rebuild and it starts with a very important first round of the NFL Draft.

In the past year, the Jacksonville Jaguars went from pseudo contender after signing Nick Foles to play quarterback, to full-on rebuild in a matter of months.

Over the past six months, the Jaguars traded Jalen Ramsey, Calais Campbell, and A.J. Bouye to deplete a defense that was once their strength. Leonard Fournette is too inconsistent to be their biggest offensive star. D.J. Chark might be the future at receiver, or he could have serious Michael Clayton vibes (look at his highlights, that one season was amazing).

If the Jaguars make the right picks, they could be one of the surprise teams in the NFL this season. If they miss on both first-rounders, they could be picking No. 1 overall in 2021.

These five players are worth serious consideration on the Jags two picks.

Tristan Wirfs

It may feel boring to start things off with an offensive lineman, but we’ve seen teams lose because their offensive line was not where it was supposed to be. In fact, the Jaguars know all too well how missing on an offensive lineman can hurt (look at Luke Joeckel). That’s why it’s so important to hit on these picks.

We’ve seen mock drafts where Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs is picked as early as fourth, and others where he falls to No. 15. The Jaguars should not allow him to get past nine. Wirfs has the size and the ability coming out of Iowa.

Even his biggest weakness can be easily schemed to be eliminated. Daniel Jerimiah with NFL Media says his biggest problem is when pass rushers make a move inside. If the Jags put a really good guard next to him, and they anticipate the move inside, it will never be a problem.

Wirfs can play either guard or tackle, but the Jags should start him off at tackle. Then, they can go from there with the offensive line. He’ll do well of protecting Minshew for the foreseeable future.
