Well, Tom Brady is not going to be on the New England Patriots, but Bill Belichick might already be preparing for the next 20-year dynastic run with his next franchise quarterback.

The Patriots let Tom Brady walk seemingly without putting up a fight for the greatest quarterback in NFL history.

Why would genius Bill Belichick let the six-time Super Bowl champion walk away? It’s easy. He’s playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers and is planning a way to get Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft.

This would be the peak of mad genius Belichick who is also a Hall of Fame general manager on top of being a Hall of Fame coach. He has often shed players from the roster a year or two early to recoup assets for those players when he looked silly.

Remember when Lawyer Milloy, Richard Seymour and Ty Law were all cast off during the height of the Patriots dynasty? Brady is no different and Belichick is positioning himself to get his next quarterback who can take the Patriots into a new dynasty.

Patriots fans, prepare yourselves for the Clemson Tigers wunderkind.

Lawrence is the slam dunk pick to go No. 1 in the 2021 NFL Draft. It was set in stone after his record-breaking freshman season two years ago when he threw 30 touchdowns and beat Alabama in the National Championship Game.

Wouldn’t it be typical of Belichick to find a way to acquire enough assets to have the necessary draft capital to be flexible enough to move up for Lawrence?

The Patriots seem to be in no rush to sign or trade for Brady’s successor. Jarrett Stidham is in line to be the starter after backing up Brady, but that could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Imagine the Patriots starting out 0-4 as the camera pans to Belichick at the end of the fourth-straight loss and instead of the familiar sour look on his face is the beginning of a side-smile ala Don Draper in the final scene of Mad Men.

Belichick knows he’s on his way to securing Lawrence.

It sounds crazy. But maybe it’s not that crazy.

According to SportsBetting.ag, Lawrence has +500 odds to be the Patriots starting quarterback in Week 1 in 2021, behind Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson at +300.

Transitioning from Brady to Lawrence would lead to people rioting in the Twitter streets. It’s just not fair! It’s not supposed to work like this! How can they go from the GOAT to the baby GOAT?!

Prepare yourselves, because it’s coming, and fans are already bracing for impact.

Belichick is going to do anything and everything he can to prove he was not just a ride for Brady’s excellence over the last 20 years and he wants to show he can win a Super Bowl without Tom Terrific.

This could be the second ride for Belichick like when Phil Jackson linked up with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers after the glory days with the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen-led Chicago Bulls of the 90s.

If Belichick gets Lawrence, he’s not going to have enough fingers to wear all the Super Bowl rings he’s going to win.
