2. Henry Ruggs III, Alabama receiver

Henry Ruggs wasn’t able to break the Combine record in the 40-yard dash, but he’s still an elite sprinter with 4.27 speed who can take the top off of opposing defenses. Lining he and Sutton up on opposite sides of the field would force secondaries to play a lot of double high safeties against the Broncos in 2020.

The downside to Ruggs is that he’s not a big target that will help Lock get away with some inaccurate throws. Getting him the ball in space will be the key to unlocking his prodigious talent. Fortunately, he can run away from almost any defender on the planet.

He figures to be available when the Broncos go on the clock at No. 15, but there are no guarantees. It’s easy to see another team falling in love with his speed and moving ahead of Denver to take him.

That doesn’t mean the Broncos should reach for his services. This is an exceptionally deep class of wide receivers. The difference between Ruggs and the next best pass catcher in the draft isn’t large enough to justify moving up.
