2. K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Edge

In sharp contrast to Delpit, Chaisson is an LSU defender whose draft stock is clearly on the rise. He may not last all the way to the No. 16 selection. If he does, there’s a very strong chance the Cowboys will snap him up.

He would come in and immediately take snaps away from Dorance Armstrong at the right defensive end spot. That position sees a lot of single blocks due to the presence of Demarcus Lawrence on the other side.

Chaisson has the speed to expose tackles who lack the foot speed to make blocks in space. He will need to add weight to be a three-down lineman, but he’s capable of contributing as a speed rusher right away.

The Cowboys need to add as much edge-rushing talent as they can this offseason. Spending a first round pick on Chaisson would be a big step in the right direction. Dallas might need to move up to grab him, but that could be a move worth making for a team with Super Bowl dreams.
