Second Round

Pick Analysis. Ezra Cleveland. player. 895. Scouting Report. OL. Boise State. 43

The Chicago Bears are in need of an offensive lineman. Ezra Cleveland is a name that’s been rocketing up draft boards after one of the best combine performances of any player. He ran below 5.00 on the 40-yard dash despite being 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds. He also had a really impressive performance on the bench press. This performance has some mock drafts putting him in the first round, but most still have him going in the second.

He might be the most athletic offensive lineman in the class, and the Bears could get him with their first pick. There are a lot of tackles in this class, and Cleveland has a real chance to be the best of them all. The fact the Bears could get a first-round talent despite giving up their first-round pick is exactly how they need to treat this first of their two second-round picks.

Cleveland is an impressive run blocker, but he’s an even better pass blocker. Right now, the offensive line might be the Bears’ biggest weakness. If they can get Cleveland into the room on day two, then it could be on its way to turning around quickly.

The only thing getting in the way of the Bears getting this pick is a lot of teams are going to be considering offensive line on the second day. However, we feel like some of the ones who desperately need it may go offensive line in the first round, allowing the Bears to watch Cleveland fall to them.
