The league year has barely begun but over/under totals for the 2020 NFL season are already out at some sportsbooks.

The 2020 offseason will be one that reshapes the NFL as we know it with Tom Brady leaving New England for Tampa Bay as part of a litany of offseason moves. All of the dominoes falling around the league could create a new balance of power in the NFL, a fact that is already being reflected in the first over/under win totals for the 2020 season.

The top teams are the two AFC powerhouses, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, each of whom checks in at 11.5 wins. Next up are the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints, both of whom are projected at 10.5 wins, while the Green Bay Packers are the last team set with a double-digit win total at 10.

One team that expectedly took a dip is the Patriots, who are now in a pack of teams with an over/under total of nine. That group also includes Brady’s new team, the Buccaneers, and the Buffalo Bills, who are expected to be fighting for the AFC East crown alongside the Patriots.

Some numbers that appear overly-optimistic include 8.5-win projections for the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears, talented squads that significantly underachieved in 2019. The Houston Texans are also down to eight wins after Bill O’Brien’s controversial trade of DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals, who are sitting at a 6.5-win projection.

The lowest team on the board is the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are sitting on a 4.5-win total after beginning a massive rebuild that will likely see more star players get shipped off for draft capital. The next-worst team is the Cincinnati Bengals, who are projected at five wins as they are set to turn over the reins of a 1-15 team to the projected top overall pick in next month’s draft, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.
