The Los Angeles Rams released their new uniforms and logo on Monday afternoon, coinciding with their move to SoFi Stadium ahead of the 2020 NFL season.

There is nothing quite like the anticipation of a team revealing a new look.

On Monday afternoon, the Rams dropped their new logo for the world to see. The Rams have been back in Los Angeles for the last four years, having played their home games at the USC Trojans’ Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. With the move to brand-new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood ahead of the 2020 NFL season, the Rams wanted to capitalize on it.

The updated visual was released to the public at 12:00 p.m. PT, much to the excitement of SoCal fans. The Rams tweeted out a cryptic image of their former logo cutting away to static and then fading to black exactly an hour before the reveal. They briefly changed their Twitter avatar and cover photo to nothing but blank white emptiness. It was ominous to say the least.

Since coming back to Los Angeles, the Rams removed the gold from the St. Louis years, opting to go with the white from back in the Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen days. Though white had been part of the Rams’ primary uniforms, fans were especially fond of the blue and yellow jerseys best associated with their great years in the 1980s with Eric Dickerson as their star running back.

Though the Rams were the first team to reveal a significant change for the 2020 campaign, they won’t be the last. A pair of NFC South teams in the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers mentioned they will be changing their primary threads ahead of the upcoming season.

With the NFL Draft a month away, we should expect the Falcons’ and the Buccaneers’ uniform reveals to be in the coming days. Though Todd Gurley and Dante Fowler now play in Atlanta, it’s time for Rams fans to buy new Aaron Donald, Jared Goff and Jalen Ramsey gear as well, as these will be their stars on the gridiron for them for the foreseeable future.
