4. Jordan Love

Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa are going to be the first two quarterbacks taken in this year’s draft. That leaves the third best prospect at the position in a very interesting spot. Most scouts believe that honor either goes to Love or Justin Herbert.

Love, in particular, is currently being projected by most experts to go in the back half of Round 1. That may be an overdraft based on his talent, but it’s still very possible he’ll be the target of a trade when the draft actually begins.

The former Utah State star fits the mold of a prospect that an offensive-minded coach could fall in love with. He’s got a big arm and the athleticism required to make plays outside the pocket. His issues with accuracy and footwork can theoretically be fixed with coaching.

If any team convinces themselves that Love is going to blossom into a Pro Bowler under their tutelage then it makes total sense for them to move up and take him just outside the top 10. That’s definitely a gamble, but fortune favors the bold in the NFL Draft.
