5 NFL Draft prospects most likely to inspire a trade
3. K’Lavon Chaisson
Chase Young is the elite edge rusher that will go off the board in the top five of this year’s draft. There are more questions than answers about the identify of the second edge rusher that will go off the board.
Chaisson is the most likely prospect to hear his name called as the No. 2 edge rusher. Most projections have him being selected somewhere in the middle of Round 1. It’s highly-unlikely teams desperate for pass-rushing help are going to wait that long to get their man.
It’s more likely that an enterprising team will try to move up into the fringes of the top 10 to make sure they can get Chaisson before a rival takes him. He wasn’t the most productive guy at LSU, but the sheer speed he showcases off the edge gives him a chance to be special at the next level.
Moving way up to grab such a raw prospect is going to be a risky move, but teams are willing to make those sorts of gambles on edge rushers with high ceilings. Chaisson may be a boom or bust prospect but that isn’t going to stop a team from moving up to take him in this year’s draft.
