1. Tua Tagovailoa

Burrow is almost certainly going No. 1 overall, but Tagovailoa doesn’t have an automatic landing spot as the second best quarterback in this class. That makes him a prime target for a Round 1 trade.

Assuming teams are comfortable with his medicals, he should be set to go in the top five. He could go as high as No. 2 to the Redskins. His floor seems to be landing with the Dolphins at No. 4.

That doesn’t mean an enterprising team couldn’t find a way to move up and change someone’s mind that is currently slated to pick in that range. It would take a big offer, but big offers are understandable when discussing a prospect who could become a team’s franchise quarterback for the next decade.

Even if a lot of teams are concerned about his health issues, he will still draw interest from teams who see his sliding stock as an opportunity to buy low on a distressed asset. If Tagovailoa falls due to health concerns he’s an even better bet to be the target of a trade.

The bottom line here is that quarterbacks inspire trades in the first round. Tagovailoa is the perfect prospect to make several teams fall in love with his talent. Look for a bidding war to emerge for his services when we get closer to the draft.
