You get a sense that sooner than later that former Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton will find a home. And to be accurate, he’s only been on them open market for a few days compared to everyone else on this list. He was released by his team which is in contrast to the others, whose contracts expired at 4:00 pm ET on March 18.
Under new head coach Matt Rhule, the Panthers opted to go in a totally different direction after the 2015 NFL MVP struggle with injuries for the last year and a half. He underwent shoulder surgery a year ago and was limited to two games in 2019 affected by a foot injury that he suffered during the preseason. This offseason, the Panthers signed one-time first-round draft choice Teddy Bridgewater, late of the New Orleans Saints. Along with releasing Newton, they also dealt Kyle Allen to the Washington Redskins this month.
