How has Saturday Night Live season 45 been affected by coronavirus? Is SNL airing on NBC tonight, March 28? We’ve got answers.

Many people were probably hoping to get some laughs from the long-running comedy show Saturday Night Live this weekend. Given the growing concerns over the coronavirus and the constant need to isolate, people everywhere are looking for ways to keep themselves busy positively. SNL seems like the perfect fix for such an unpleasant occasion, but unfortunately, no one will be going live from New York on Saturday night for the foreseeable future.

The hilarious NBC variety series was supposed to return from hiatus on March 28, but in order to help stop the spread of the COVID-19, they have decided to halt production. At this time, it’s very unclear when the show will return, considering there were only six installments left to air before the 45th season concluded. A spokesperson from the network confirmed that SNL is monitoring the situation and will be making decisions regarding how to move forward on a week by week basis.

This upcoming episode that has since been canceled was going to have The Office and A Quiet Place star John Krasinski as the host with Dua Lipa set to take the stage. Hopefully, when all this is over, and things get back on track, fans will get to see these two, and the rest of the cast of SNL put on another memorable show.

Other late-night and daytime programs have also suspended their broadcasts in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight, The Wendy Williams Show, and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, like SNL, have been put on hold.
