Indianapolis Colts full 2020 NFL mock draft
By John Buhler
Fifth Round
The Colts could use a little boost in the secondary. They can address this with the No. 160 overall pick in the fifth round by taking safety Tanner Muse out of Clemson University. As with any player who has played for Dabo Swinney these last few years, Muse has plenty of big-game experience playing for the most dominant team in college football these days. He’ll fit in well here for sure.
Sixth Round
By this point of the draft, the Colts should be looking for guys who can help with depth and maybe compete for a roster spot. One guy who could be a fit for them at No. 193 in the sixth round would be Cincinnati Bearcats running back Michael Warren II. Despite playing at the Group of 5 level, we know Warren has been well coached under Luke Fickell during his time in the AAC.
The last pick the Colts will make in the 2020 NFL Draft will be at No. 197 in the sixth round. Like Anae before him, Washington Huskies offensive tackle Trey Adams has seen his draft stock drop in recent weeks. Though he had his injuries during his time in college, perhaps the Colts will be willing to take a late-round flier on this big offensive lineman out of the Pac-12 at No. 197?
Seventh Round
Indianapolis does not have a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This stems from a trade made with the Miami Dolphins for offensive lineman Evan Boehm. This is why the Colts have an extra sixth-round pick in the draft, which they were able to use on Adams out of Washington to close out their draft.
Next: Best NFL player from each state
Overall, the Colts were able to get three excellent with their three top-100 picks. Having Love drop to them at No. 34 would be remarkable if that does end up happening. Adding Simpson along the offensive interior and Anae out on the edge should help the Colts be even more competitive, possibly competitive enough to win the AFC South for the first time since the 2014 NFL season.
