North Carolina basketball is one of the best programs so making an all-time starting lineup of Tar Heels is hard but Michael Jordan is a no-brainer.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are one of the blue blood — or should I say “Carolina Blue” blood — institutions in the world of college basketball. The university has won six national championships (with their latest coming in 2017) and has made it to the Final Four 20 times. Needless to say, the story of college basketball could not be told without mentioning UNC.

While they have enough talent on their rosters to field several high-quality benches, the talent wasn’t just from the guys on the floor. All-time greats like Frank McGuire, Dean Smith and Roy Williams have been on the sidelines guiding this school to glory for decades. Few schools in the country have had the type of firepower throughout the program the Tar Heels have seemingly been spoiled with for seventy-plus seasons.

Of course, this is a reveal of the four players besides Michael Jordan who makes up North Carolina’s all-time starting lineup. The G.O.A.T. easily has his place secured here. Any G.O.A.T. gets a free pass onto any type of historical lineup regardless of sport. In Chapel Hill, His Airness went from little-known Mike Jordan into the infamous MJ.

Yet, before we find out who will team up with Jordan, it is only fair that we give some of the other great former Tar Heels their moment in the spotlight. 43 jerseys are hanging from the rafters of the Dean Dome and there are only four spots left in this lineup so a few good men had to be left behind. Here’s the list of 10 players that just missed making the team.
