The Los Angeles Chargers currently have Tyrod Taylor as their QB1 heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, but that could change in a hurry on draft night.

Throughout the 2020 offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers have done nothing to address the fact that Philip Rivers will be playing for the Indianapolis Colts this upcoming season. While Tyrod Taylor is a solid NFL backup, the team should look to bring in a new franchise guy, and they get their man at pick No. 6 overall.

Here is our latest 2020 NFL mock draft.

Quarterback. Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. 1. player. 56.

No change at the top of the draft, as the Cincinnati Bengals bring in a new franchise quarterback in Joe Burrow. This past college football season, Burrow led the LSU Tigers on a magical run, going undefeated, winning the national title, and taking home the Heisman Trophy.

As we inch closer to the draft, there is going to be more talk as to whether or not Burrow, or Tua Tagovailoa should be the top quarterback taken, but Tua’s injury history is going to scare teams away. In Burrow, you are getting not only an NFL-ready quarterback, but also a native Ohioan, and this team needs a facelift.

Andy Dalton was a solid NFL quarterback during his time with the Bengals, but he never led them to a playoff win, despite having some talented weapons on offense. Burrow would be taking control of an offense with a star at wideout in A.J. Green, as well as a solid running back in Joe Mixon, and he should be the guy from Day 1.

Edge. Washington Commanders. Chase Young. 2. player. 58.

The Washington Redskins could shock the world here, and copy what the Arizona Cardinals did during the 2019 NFL Draft and draft a quarterback in the first round for the second straight year. However, I believe that if a quarterback is going No. 2 overall, it will be because the Redskins traded out of the spot with the likes of the Miami Dolphins or Los Angeles Chargers.

Washington brought in a defensive-minded head coach in Ron Rivera this offseason, and that would indicate that they will use the No. 2 pick on that side of the ball if they stay there. Chase Young has been the top edge rusher in this draft class, and arguably the best overall player, so a Rivera-Young marriage makes sense.

Of course, the Redskins have been terrible for years now, and holding this kind of draft capital, they may want to send it away for possibly multiple first round picks. If they stay here, Young has to be the pick, as Dwayne Haskins will get the chance to succeed in Year 1 under Rivera, but if he falters, they could be in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes next April.
